Lyle Green (born February 4, 1976 in Kitchener , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian American football and Canadian football player on the position of fullback .

Career

Greene was selected in the CFL Draft 2001 in the first round as the third player overall by the BC Lions . He was mainly used as a pre-blocker and in the special teams . With the Lions he took part in two Gray Cups and won it in 2006. On June 24, 2010 Greene was fired as part of the final squad reduction to 46 players. He had previously played 161 games in a row for the Lions, most of them by a running back in franchise history. During his time in Vancouver, he ran 569 yards and seven touchdowns in 116 runs and caught 83 passes for 978 yards and three touchdowns. On July 19, 2011, the Calgary Stampeders signed him .
