Lysandros Kaftantzoglou
Lysandros Kaftantzoglou ( Greek Λύσανδρος Καυταντζόγλου , * 1811 in Thessaloniki ; † October 5, 1885 in Athens ) was a Greek architect in the style of classicism .
He designed the buildings of the National Technical University of Athens , headed it from 1843 to 1862 and founded its design department in 1844, from which the Athens School of Fine Arts emerged in 1910 . He took care of the construction of the Cathedral of St. Dionysius Areopagita free of charge .
