Mérieux
The Mérieux family is an entrepreneurial family from Lyon in France. The family members are the founders of companies such as Sanofi Pasteur , bioMérieux ( in vitro diagnostics ) and Merial (products for veterinarians), but also the Marcel-Mérieux Foundation , the BSL-4 Laboratoire Jean Mérieux and the humanitarian organization Bioforce. You are also the majority owner of the Mérieux NutriSciences laboratory group .

Marcel Mérieux (1870–1937) , student in 1891 at the École Supérieure de Chimie Industrielle de Lyon ( ESCIL for short ), former assistant to Louis Pasteur , founder of the Mérieux Biological Institute in Lyon ( Institut Mérieux ) in 1897 (now part of Sanofi Pasteur ).
- Jean Mérieux , doctor. Died at the age of 26 from tuberculosis-related meningitis contracted in the family laboratory.
