Furniture glides
Furniture glides , chair glides or felt glides protect parquet , laminate or other sensitive floors from signs of wear and tear caused by furniture such as chairs , tables or cupboards being moved . Another purpose is to transport particularly heavy furniture or musical instruments (e.g. pianos ), which can be moved more easily around the room thanks to the glides. Depending on the material, a distinction is made between felt gliders, Teflon gliders and metal gliders, whereby the felt gliders are used on smooth floor coverings, while gliders without felt are mainly used on carpets and dull floors.
The gliders are attached to the underside of the furniture in question. Depending on the product, the gliders are glued, screwed or nailed.
