Furniture association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A furniture retail buying association is called a furniture association. They are horizontal alliances of legally independent traders.

Historically, their main task has been to concentrate dealer demand in order to achieve improved purchase prices. The first companies to take on this task were founded in the 1950s. Since then, the companies have continuously expanded their field of activity and offer their members extensive additional services. Examples are financial services and insurance, centralized settlement , community advertising or shop fitting.

Furniture associations play an important role as sales assistants in the distribution of furniture. The 24 active furniture associations currently account for more than 60% of total furniture sales in Germany , currently 18.7 billion euros.
