The Begros consumer goods wholesale company for apartment and home limited liability company , or Begros for short , is a furniture buying association founded in 1957 and based in Oberhausen .

At the beginning of 2020, 17 companies in the furniture industry, which are primarily active in Germany and Austria, are members and shareholders of the purchasing community: Möbelcenter Biller, Braun Möbel-Center, the furniture stores Ehrmann, Hardeck Möbel, Möbel Heinrich, Inhofer, Micasa (Migros Group) Möbel Kempf, Kika / Leiner Group, Möbel Martin , Opti-Wohnwelt Föst, Ostermann , Pilipp, Porta Möbel , Möbel Rogg, Schaffrath and Sommerlad.

History and structure

The Begros purchasing cooperation was founded in 1957 by five owner-managed retail companies in the furniture industry . Since 2000, Home Product Import GmbH has been taking on direct imports of furniture and home accessories as a subsidiary. Begros has been offering products under its own brands since 2003.

For a long time, Begros was by far the largest furniture association in Germany. Thus achieved Begros in 2010, according to the trade magazine Furniture Market in external revenue, so the part of the connected enterprise with customers generated revenues in the amount of 5.2 billion euros.

At the beginning of 2015, the Austrian furniture store chain XXXLutz , which was previously the largest member company, left the purchasing community, which caused external sales and the associated total sales area to plummet. Eight members remained.

In May 2015, the accession of four new member companies was announced on July 1, 2015 and January 1, 2016: Kika / Leiner, Möbel Kempf, Möbel Pilipp and Möbel Rogg.

In January 2020, five more members (formerly members of the Union Association) joined the Oberhausen Association: Braun Möbel-Center, the furniture stores Ehrmann, Hardeck Möbel and Möbel Heinrich and Opti-Wohnwelt Föst.
