history

The roots go back to the year 1890, when the Dürrmenzer Bote was founded in what was then Dürrmenz-Mühlacker . From 1911 the newspaper appeared as a daily newspaper under the direction of the publisher Karl Elser. After Elser retired due to old age, the local industrialist Eugen Händle took over the paper in July 1933. After the National Socialists came to power in Germany, the new rulers quickly pushed for participation in local media, and the Mühlacker Tagblatt was not spared. In October 1933 the newspaper was given the addition of Der Braune Sender under political pressure . After Mühlacker was taken in 1945, the newspaper was banned by the Allies. After denazification, Eugen Händle was able to publish the Mühlacker Tagblatt again under its previous name. Today the joint management is with Hans-Ulrich Wetzel and Brigitte Wetzel.
