Mühlviertler Land ( Dreams of Linz on the Danube ) is an Austrian hit song from 1973 that became a folk song . The music and lyrics are from Werner Brüggemann . In 1973 Regina Simader and the Linzer Buam interpret the song under the direction of Kapellmeister Robert Thaller , which developed into a success.

Mühlviertler Land is written in ¾ time and consists of a verse, the refrain and a yodel . At the beginning the verse Dreams of Linz an der Donau, I carry secretly with me, is sung, followed by the refrain Mühlviertler Land, my homeland and as the third part a yodel.

The song turned out to be a great success. It appeared on numerous LPs and MCs by various performers and thus became an evergreen and folk song in Upper Austria .

In addition, the piece is part of the popular brass music repertoire in Austria. Mühlviertler Land was a compulsory item on the self-voting list in grade A of the waltz category at the “Polka, Walzer, March” competition of the Austrian Brass Band Association in 2017.
