Garbage station

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Müllstation is a punk band from Eisleben in Saxony-Anhalt. It was founded in 1980 in the GDR and is now one of the longest-serving punk bands in Germany.

Band history

The band was founded in February 1980 by singer Harty Sachse ("Steve Aktiv") and Frank Baur, whereby the band members initially made do with pots as drums and a self-made guitar.

In 1982 the band met in front of the Palast der Republik in East Berlin with 2 presenters from NDR ( Tim Renner and Thomas Meins) who took recordings from Müllstation and the band Menschenrock with them to Hamburg . These were played on September 20, 1982 in the program "Club" on NDR 2.

Over the years garbage station often played in the Christ Church in Halle together with bands like Schleim-Keim , Tantanfall , megalomania and concrete romance .

Later on, Susanne "Susi" Horn joined the band on bass and Volker Eschke and Mike Beelitz on guitars. After the dissolution in 1989 and reunion in 1990, Frank Baur took over the guitar parts and Ralf "Ralle" Brauer came on as the new drummer, but was soon replaced by Roy Hoffmann and finally in 1995 by Jürgen "Grahli" Grahl (previously with Abraum and NFP ). At the end of the 1990s, instead of Susi, Melanie Stütz joined the band as the new bass player, and since 2002 Alex Zschaege (previously KVD , NFP ).

Frank Baur and Jürgen Grahl also work with non-garbage disposal member Toralf Schwarz in a side project called The Morlox . The Morlox play surf with Slavic influences.
