East Lindsey is a district in the county of Lincolnshire in England . With an area of ​​1760 km², it is the fifth largest in England. The administrative seat is the village of Manby . Other significant locations are Alford , Donington on Bain , Horncastle , Louth , Mablethorpe , Skegness and Woodhall Spa .

The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was formed from the merger of the Municipal Borough Louth, the Urban Districts Alford, Horncastle, Mablethorpe and Sutton, Skegness and Woodhall and the Rural Districts Horncastle, Louth and Spilsby . These previously all belonged to Lindsey , an administrative county from 1889 to 1974 .
