Louth is a small town in District East Lindsey the English county of Lincolnshire . According to the 2001 census, it had 15,930 inhabitants ( Ludensians ).
geography
The city is known as the "Capital of the Lincolnshire Wolds " and the city center is about 10 miles from the North Sea as the crow flies . At Eastgate, a sign marks the point where the prime meridian runs through the city. A river called Lud flows through Louth .
history
Coin finds date from Roman times. Historically, the city is best known for originating an uprising, as the forerunner of the Pilgrimage of Grace . This began on October 1, 1536 in St. James Church , after the evening prayer.
A flood of May 29, 1920 claimed 23 lives. Various stone tablets in the city show the flood level at that time. There were other less destructive floods on June 25 and July 20, 2007.
Attractions
The city center is lined with brick buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. The silhouette of the city is shaped by the St. James Church, whose steeple is unusual for a city parish church with 90 meters. The church tower was built between 1500 and 1515.
"Hubbard's Hills" is a beautiful park west of Louth. There is also a museum in the city.

There are four primary schools and now four secondary schools. One of the secondary schools is the "King Edward IV Grammer School".

The Southwold Jazz Band is a band based at the Louth New Orleans Jazz Club that plays every Saturday night at the club on Queen Street .
