Munich advancement award for German-language drama

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Munich Prize for German Drama has been awarded every two years by the City of Munich to up to three young playwrights since 2009 .

The aim of the award is to encourage young writers to write dramatically and support dramatists who are not yet established in the theater and publishing sectors. The award aims to help them develop their dramatic talent and develop their scenic writing skills.

The sponsorship award for German-language drama is awarded as part of the Long Night of Young Drama at the Münchner Kammerspiele in cooperation with the Drei Masken Verlag. A donation from the Edith and Werner Rieder Foundation enables the prize to be endowed with a total of 15,000 euros.

The prize is not only associated with an endowment, but also with the public presentation of the text in the Münchner Kammerspiele and an option for the premiere. The nominated works can be included in the Drei Masken Verlag Munich. With these accompanying measures, the integration of the award-winning authors into theater practice is ensured.

A personal application is required for the “Munich Prize for German Drama”.
