Munsterpark

The Münsterpark residential complex is located on Rheinbabenstrasse / Glockenstrasse in Düsseldorf-Derendorf . It was built from 1971 to 1977 according to plans by Walter Brune in the brutalist style. All parts of the facade are made of exposed concrete .

description

The residential complex forms 500 residential units, which are made up of different structures. The largest building block is on Rheinbabenstrasse and, with twelve storeys, is the largest and tallest building in the Derendorf district. The front side is structured vertically and horizontally. The building front is characterized by a gradual swinging back of the architecture. Reinforced concrete bulkheads form the construction. Box-like, 4.5 m long units made of reinforced concrete bulkheads structure the façade and form loggias with balcony balustrades made of structural concrete . Each loggia is divided by a mezzanine floor.
