The MAN 890 UG is an articulated bus derived from the Metrobus , which was developed by MAN as the successor to the 760 UO 2G . The diesel engine was, however, rather than as in the two-axis Metrobus 750 HO with rear engine when articulated underfloor arranged between front and rear axle of the front end, resulting in a higher floor with a further stage on the doors result. The abbreviation UG stands for U nterflur- G elenkbus.

The type 890 UG was created when the ban on towing a trailer in passenger buses meant that large-scale articulated buses had come to be. The trailer was built by the Göppel Bus company in Augsburg . The MAN / Göppel 890 UG were used in different versions by various German transport companies . The last bus of this type still in existence is now owned by the Omnibus Club Munich ( OCM ) and is currently on display in the MVG Museum .
