The Antonine University ( fr . : Université Antonine ; UA) is a Maronite private university in Lebanon .

University

The University of Antonine or its predecessor institutions was founded by the Maronite Order of the Antonines . Since the Maronite Synod in 1736, the order has increasingly trained young people in their monasteries in the subjects of philosophy , theology , grammar and law . In 1996 the institution was granted university rights. The order is the bearer of the university.

The institutes and faculties are spread over several locations around Beirut . The current university president is Antoine Rajeh.

  • University institute for dentistry (dental prosthetics) with attached hospital in Haddath

  • Institute for Sport and Physical Education, since 1981

Affiliated institute: The Oriental Research Center (CERO) was founded in 1987 by Father Maroun Atallah out of the cultural movement of the Saint Elie Monastery, Antelias. Activities include publishing magazines and organizing conferences. The magazines are: Our Liturgical Life, The Youth, Halleluia. CERO organizes various international symposia on the Aramaic- Syriac heritage and culture.

The university works closely with a number of European universities in education: the partner universities are Université Panthéon, Sorbonne Paris I, Université Paul Sabatier-Toulouse III, Université Jules Verne - Picardie, Université Jules Verne - Picardie, Haute École Léonard de Vinci associée à l 'Université Catholique de Louvain, l'Université de Bourgogne - France et l'Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon (INSA) - France
