The University of La Sagesse (French: Université La Sagesse , Arabic جامعة الحكمة, Abbr .: ULS ) is a denominational, non-governmental university in Beirut .

The university was founded in 1875 and officially recognized in 1961. The ULS has a jurisprudential, especially canonical, orientation and is part of the association of the Pontifical Lateran University . It offers certificate , bachelor , master ( DESS and DEA ) and doctoral studies. The languages ​​of instruction are French and English. In 2002 a new campus was inaugurated.

The university's chancellor is Paul Youssef Matar , Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Beirut .
