MC1R (The magazine for redheads) is a culture magazine for redheads from Hamburg and was created as an idea by Tristan Rodgers. It is a so-called "indie magazine".

MC1R is an independent print magazine that has been published internationally every year since 2013. The magazine is the first print magazine worldwide that only deals with the topic of "red hair". For this, the LeadAward received an award in the category “Newcomer Magazine of the Year” in bronze. While the first edition was published purely in German, the second edition has been in English and internationally. The content ranges from contemporary art and fashion editorials to musician and designer interviews to everyday stories about life and current and former events. In addition, the magazine supports worldwide projects and a diverse cultural area around this hair color and the receptor melanocortin-1 receptor (also abbreviated to MC1R).

The motivation of the magazine is the behavior of society and the media in the different cultures and countries, which is solely due to the characteristics around the physical properties of the receptor and the hair color.

To date, over 15,000 copies of MC1R have been sold. The current edition has 160 pages in the format 16.5 cm × 23 cm with an edition of 4,500 copies.
