The MEDICA with 5,891 exhibitors and 117,902 visitors (2016), the largest international medical trade fair. Sector focuses are medical technology, health, pharmacy, care and supply management. The organizer of MEDICA is Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, the sponsor / sponsor is the Gesellschaft Deutscher Krankenhaustag mbH (GDK). The fair takes place together with COMPAMED - International Trade Fair High Tech Solutions for Medical Technologies, annually in November at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center. The year of foundation was 1969.

Since 2015, Medica has been taking place from Monday to Thursday and not from Wednesday to Saturday as before.
