MEK6800D2
The MEK6800D2 is a microprocessor development board from Motorola. It appeared in 1976 and had the following features:
- Motorola 6800 CPU
- RAM 3 × 128 bytes 6810, of which you could only use 256 bytes
- 1 KByte ROM 6830
- 6 * 7 segment display
- Hexadecimal keyboard 0–9 and A – F
It is designed to familiarize yourself with the 6800 microprocessor. With the monitor program "JBUG", you could write machine code in the RAM area and execute the code. So you were able to write and try out machine programs without burning EPROMs, which at that time was still very complex.
These types of systems existed well into the 1980s. They were built for many processors. Until the appearance of home computers , it was possible to get started with microprocessor technology for little money.
