MKTO is an American music duo consisting of Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller . Her debut single Thank You was released in January 2013. The second single, Classic, followed in June 2013. MKTO's first album, entitled MKTO , was released on January 30, 2014.

Career

2010 - 2012: foundation

Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller met in 2010 while filming the Nickelodeon television series Gigantic , in which the characters they play are best friends. They later formed as a duo and came up with the name MKTO , which is made up of the combined first letters of their first and last names: MK for Malcolm Kelley and TO for Tony Oller.

2013 - present: MKTO

The two signed a record deal with Columbia Records and released their debut single Thank You on January 15, 2013. Thank You is a cross between pop and hip-hop . The music video for the song was uploaded to YouTube via VEVO on January 4, 2013 and was viewed over 500,000 times in two days. The song was a financial success and made it into the top ten of the Australian and New Zealand singles charts. MKTO released their second single, Classic, along with the music video on June 20, 2013. Their self- descriptive album MKTO was released on April 1, 2014. The music video for their third single and first song on MKTO , God Only Knows , was released on YouTube and VEVO on November 29, 2013. In February 2014, their debut album made it to number 1 in Australia and number 6 in New Zealand. During the summer of 2014, they went on their first tour called the American Dream Tour . The third single in the US is American Dream .
