from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MPR stands for the Swedish authority “Mätoch Provningsrådet” (Swedish National Board for Measurement and Testing), meanwhile renamed “Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment” (SWEDAC), and is a guideline for monitors that by the Swedish Agency for Technical Accreditation (SWEDAC).

Content of the standard

Monitors that have this mark comply with the recommended standard values for electromagnetic and electrostatic screen radiation. The limit values of this guideline are less strict than those of the TCO ( Tjänstemännens Centralorganisation , Sweden), which is the direct successor to the MPR II.

In 1987 the MPR I, a standard for low-radiation screens, was established, and in 1990 the MPR II came along. This standard contains the following provisions:

  • 1. Electrostatic field : Maximum 500 volts at a distance of 50 cm from the screen surface
  • 2. Electric field : For band I (5 Hz to 2 kHz) a maximum of 25 volts / meter, for band II (2 kHz to 400 kHz) a maximum of 2.5 volts / meter (distance as before.)
  • 3. Electromagnetic alternating field : maximum 250 nanotesla for volume I, maximum 25 nanotesla for volume II (distance as before - and around the screen in three different positions, each 30 cm away).

The TCO 92 - TCO 06 contain further requirements .
