The MVG Museum of the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft is a public transport museum for the presentation of historical and modern local public transport in Munich . Around 25 historic trams , buses and work vehicles are exhibited on an area of ​​over 5000 square meters . The trams are lined up on two tracks running through the entire hall. The “résumés” are also displayed for each vehicle. Also, you can see over 150 charts and other exhibits, such as a subway - simulator in an original B-car from the 1980s, several tram travel switch, historical paintings, a small cinema and a model tram exhibition. The MVG Museum is located in an abandoned part of the listed main tram workshop at Ständerstraße 20 in Ramersdorf . It opened on October 28, 2007. It is open on two Sundays a month.

Tram and bus shuttle

On opening days of the MVG Museum there are two special lines, the bus O7 and the tram E7 .

The E7 tram runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every 30 minutes from the MVG Museum stop to the Max-Weber-Platz junction. There are usually two courses, one of which, depending on availability, is used with a historical tramway type (P / p).

The E7 tram stops are MVG Museum (Bus O7) - Chiemgaustraße (only direction Max-Weber-Platz) - Giesing (U2 / S3 / S7 / O7) - Werinherstraße - St.-Martins-Platz - Ostfriedhof - Regerplatz - Rosenheimer Platz ( S1-S4, S6-S8) - Wörthstraße - Ostbahnhof (S1-S4, S6-S8, RB, RE, M, IC, U5; only direction MVG Museum) - Haidenauplatz (only direction MVG Museum) - Grillparzerstraße (only direction MVG Museum) - Flurstraße (only towards MVG Museum) - Max-Weber-Platz and back

The O7 bus runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every 30 minutes from the MVG Museum stop to Giesing train station. During the Long Night of the Munich Museums, the O7 bus runs every 15 minutes from Giesing via the Anzinger Straße (Volkssternwarte) and Ostbahnhof (U5 / Tram E7 / S / RE / RB / IC / M) stops to the Odeonsplatz (U3 / U4 / U5 / U6 / Bus 90-94). The bus line O7 is driven by the Omnibus-Club München eV with vintage cars.

The bus line O7 stops at the MVG Museum and Giesing stops (without intermediate stops).
