The Ständerstraße is a 4.8 km long street in the south of Munich . It is part of the Outer Ring planned in earlier years .
It runs from Stadelheimer Strasse at the corner of Schwanseestrasse in Giesing , crosses the A8 , is crossed by the Neuperlach chain bridge and ends at Karl-Marx-Ring in Neuperlach . Due to the original planning, the route of the road is also generously laid out for eight lanes, but only expanded to four. The street was named after a family Ständler or Stantler who practiced the craft of blade forge in the area for several generations.
The sculptures “Only man is the place of images” from Jai Young Park and Pavilion - sloping walls by Kay Winkler , as well as the main tram workshop , which is now used by the MVG Museum and is a listed building , lie on it . To the south-west is the cemetery at Perlacher Forst .
For reasons of climate protection, the street lamps along the street outside the built-up area were dismantled in 2015.
