Mabalako is located in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the province of North Kivu . It is located about 25 kilometers west of the city of Beni .

history

The town of Mabalako was particularly affected by the Ebola fever epidemic from 2018 to 2020 . The disease probably broke out in the village as early as April. On August 12, 2018, 41 of 52 cases were registered in Mabalako. The number of cases of illness continued to rise as a result.
