Maccarone is a family name from Italy . It is particularly common in Sicily . In the meantime, however, there are more people with this surname in the USA than in Italy.

The professional meaning of the name 'fast food provider' goes back historically / etymologically either to artisan manufacturers or restaurateurs of pasta , i.e. noodle dishes, or of macaroon cakes made from almonds and eggs.
