Machete Empire Records is an Italian independent label based in Milan specializing in hip hop . It was founded in 2012 by Salmo , DJ Slait, Enigma and El Raton. The Machete Crew collective is formed from around the label .

history

The label emerged from Machete Production in summer 2012 ; the first publications were the Machete Mixtape and the Bloody Vinyl Mixtape , whereupon the founders of the label (Enigma, Salmo, El Raton and DJ Slait) as well as MadMan and Nitro could be heard. At the end of the year, the Machete Mixtape Vol II also had its first commercial success. In addition to the Machete Crew, well-known beatmakers such as Fritz da Cat and Belzebass as well as rappers such as Bassi Maestro , Jack the Smoker, Clementino , Mezzosangue, Rocco Hunt and Gemitaiz were involved in this album . In 2013, Enigma's first solo EP , Rebus EP, and Nitro's first solo album , Danger , were released on Machete Empire Records . In 2014, Enigma's debut album Foga and Salmo's fourth studio album followed. In September 2014 the Machete Mixtape III was released , which reached the top of the Italian compilation charts. The mixtape was preceded by two songs by Salmo, La bestia in me and Venice Beach , as well as Non sopporto by Nitro, Salmo and Jack the Smoker.

After the third mixtape, the members of the crew each published their own solo projects. In 2015 the albums Suicidol by Nitro, Hellvisback by Salmo and Jack uccide by Jack the Smoker were released. The composition of the crew changed several times, so Enigma and Kill Mauri resigned, while Axos and Dani Faiv joined them. Released in 2017 on Machete Zzala by Lazza , The Waiter by Dani Faiv and Anima Mea by Axos. In 2018, No Comment by Nitro, Fruit Joint by Dani Faiv and Salmo's next album Playlist followed . Lazza released his album Re Mida in February 2019, and later that year the Machete Crew began working on their fourth mixtape (five years after part three). In addition to the entire crew, Fabri Fibra , Marracash , Gemitaiz , Ghali , Izi and Tedua were also involved in Machete Mixtape 4 . In the week after its release, it topped the Italian album charts.
