Machine Shop Recordings is an American record label for the rock and hip-hop genres . The label belongs to the major label Warner Music Group .

History and name

The company was founded in 2002 by Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda , two members of the Linkin Park group . Initially the label was called The Shinoda Imprint . Later, the other band members gained influence, so that the band agreed on the new name Machine Shop Recordings .

The English name Machine Shop means the machine department or the machine hall in German . It stands for the work on a music album, which some participants perceive as if the artists were just machines that had to work endlessly.
