Macmahon Island , also Mac Mahon Island, is an uninhabited island in the northern part of the King Sound , an Australian coastal body of water in the Indian Ocean . It belongs to the Kimberley region in the Australian state of Western Australia .
The island is 1.1 kilometers long and 530 meters wide. It is approximately 6.1 kilometers from mainland Australia. Nearby are the islands of Hazel Island , Pope Island and Whipp Island .
