Macquarie is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . It is located in the state of New South Wales and was founded in 1900. It is one of the first 75 constituencies in Australia. It was named after Lachlan Macquarie , a governor of New South Wales .
The constituency now includes the western edge of Sydney , parts of the Blue Mountains and the area around Hawkesbury City . Louise Markus of the Liberal Party of Australia has been the incumbent MP for the constituency since 2010 .
