Macuá

The Macuá is a cocktail drink that is mainly made from white rum and fruit juices (the juice of guavas , oranges and lemons ) in a ratio of 3: 2: 2: 1. The drink is named after a bird native to Nicaragua .

history

The inventor of the Macuá is considered to be Dr. Edmundo Miranda, a pediatrician from Granada , a city on Lake Nicaragua .

The drink became famous in October 2006 when it was named "Nicaragua's national drink" in a competition sponsored by the state rum manufacturer.
