Maelgwn from Owain
Maelgwn from Owain († after 1173) was a lord of the Welsh principality of Gwynedd .
He was a son of Owain Gwynedd and his wife Gwladus, a daughter of Llywarch ap Trahern von Arwystli , and thus a brother of Iorwerth Drwyndwn , the father of Llywelyn ap Iorwerth . When the kingdom was partitioned after his father's death in 1170, he became ruler of Anglesey . He was expelled by his half-brother Dafydd in 1173 and fled to Ireland. When he returned to Gwynedd later that year, he was captured by Dafydd. His further fate is unknown.
