Maen Llwyd

The Maen Llwyd (also called Carreg Fawr Nant Jack) - the big stone on Jack's stream or on the River Towy - is a menhir ( English standing stone ) in St Ishmael, near Llansteffan in Carmarthenshire in Wales .

The Old Red Sandstone (ORS) stone is approximately 2.25 m high, 1.2 m wide and 0.9 m thick. The lower part of the stone is covered by the alluvial sand of the river estuary located in the tidal area .

Nearby are Llansteffan Castle , Maen Llwyd and the Chamber Tomb of Fron Ucha .
