The Mag'oki Kurpa Mosque is a mosque in the Uzbek city ​​of Buxoro . It was built in 1637.

location

The mosque is located in the historical center of Buxoro about 250 meters southwest of Poi Kalon and 10 meters west of the Toqi Telpak Furushon dome bazaar .

description

The Mag'oki Kurpa Mosque has a rectangular floor plan of 15 × 24 m. It has two floors, with the lower floor, into which a staircase leads, is almost completely below the surface of the earth. Therefore the mosque has its name affix "Mag'oki" (= in the hole, in the underground). Another "underground" mosque is the Mag'oki Attori Mosque, about 150 meters southeast .

The roof has twelve domes. The main dome sits on a cylindrical drum and rises 20 m above the ground.
