The Magdeburger Knabenchor was founded in 1985 by Frank Satzky in Magdeburg .

Initially consisting only of soprano and alto , the choir has developed into a choir made up of boys (soprano and alto) and male voices ( tenor and bass ) and forms the performance choir .

There is also the young choir (five to nine year old singers) and the newly founded “Young Male Choir Magdeburg”. Choir soloists from different vocal groups appear in some concerts . Singers who are changing their voices receive separate voice training. The repertoire includes secular and sacred choral music from five centuries. In addition to the annual spring and Christmas concerts, the choir's fixed program also includes the choir free time (summer holidays) and a large family choir summer festival. The choir life does not only consist of joint rehearsal activities, there is also some common leisure activities. It has now become a tradition that the choir is engaged for theater performances and symphony concerts and also takes part in other events and concerts. Concert tours in Germany and abroad are carried out regularly. The choir also takes part in national and international choir meetings. Concert tours have taken him to Belgium , the Netherlands , Austria , Switzerland , Russia , Luxembourg , Qatar and Mallorca .

The choir has released its own CDs and MCs .
