Magnetic stimulation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The magnetic stimulation is a noninvasive method to biological tissues such as muscles , nerves and brain to stimulate. The physical principle of magnetic stimulation is electromagnetic induction . A capacitor is discharged through a magnetic coil and creates a magnetic field . The rapid change in the magnetic field induces a current in the body tissue. If this current is sufficiently strong, muscle and nerve cells in the body are stimulated.
