Mahalat

Mahalat ( Hebrew מָחֲלַת māḥǎlat ) is the name of two women mentioned in the Tanach .

Mrs. Esaus

The book of Genesis tells that Mahalat was a daughter of Ishmael and the third wife of Esau . According to the biblical narration, Esau married Mahalat after he saw his brother Jacob go to Mesopotamia to find a wife, according to his father's direction, and that Esau's two Canaanite wives caused his parents much grief ( Gen. 28.6-9  EU ).

Mrs. Rehoboam

The 2nd book of the chronicles tells that Rehoboam , the king of Judah and son of Solomon had a total of 18 main wives and 60 concubines, most of which are not named. Mahalat, the daughter of Jerimot and Abihajil, is listed as the first of the women of Rehoboam named. It is narrated that she had three sons: Jëusch, Schemariah and Saham ( 2nd Chronicles 11: 18-21  EU ).
