The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU), the former Baroda College , is a University in Vadodara in Gujarat , India . It is named after the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III (1863-1939). The university, founded in 1949, emerged from the older Baroda College (founded in 1881).

The renowned Faculty of Fine Arts was founded in 1950. There studied Vivan Sundaram painting, and Bhupen Khakhar was trained to art critic.
