The Bistum Bomadi ( latin Dioecesis Bomadiensis ) is in Nigeria preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Bomadi .

history

The diocese of Bomadi was established on March 17, 1991 by Pope John Paul II from cedings of the dioceses of Port Harcourt and Warri as a Mission sui juris Bomadi . The elevation of the Mission sui juris Bomadi to the Apostolic Vicariate took place on December 15, 1996.

On September 21, 2017, Pope Francis elevated the Vicariate Apostolic Bomadi to a diocese and subordinated it to the Archdiocese of Benin City as a suffragan diocese .

The bishopric of Bomadi includes the state of Delta .
