Joseph O. Egerega

Joseph O. Egerega (born March 20, 1940 in Eboh Orogun ; † February 3, 2013 ) was a Nigerian clergyman and Apostolic Vicar of Bomadi .

Life

Joseph O. Egerega, a retired captain in the Nigerian Navy , was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Warri on December 21, 1969 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on March 3, 1997 Vicar Apostolic of Bomadi and Titular Bishop of Tanudaia . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Cardinal Jozef Tomko , donated to him on May 14th of the same year and received episcopal ordination on December 21st, 1969 ; Co- consecrators were Albert Kanene Obiefuna , Archbishop of Onitsha , and Patrick Ebosele Ekpu , Archbishop of Benin City .

His resignation was on April 4, 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI. granted.
