Mahasthamaprapta ( Chin.大勢至Dàshìzhì , 勢 至Déshìzhì or 勢 至Shìzhì for short ; Japanese.勢 至Seishi ; Vietnam. Đại Thế Chí Bồ tát ) is a Bodhisattva who represents the power of wisdom and saints and is common in the Buddhist triad of the " Three " Three "(Chin. xifang san sheng西方 三圣; i.e. of the Western Paradise Sukavathi ) occurs with Amitabha and Avalokitesvara (Guanyin), especially in Amitabha Buddhism (School of the Pure Land). In Chinese Buddhism, he is usually depicted as a woman, similar to Guanyin . He is one of the traditional Japanese Thirteen Buddhas (十三 仏jūsanbutsu ).
