Mahdi Karim

Mahdi Karim Adschil ( Arabic مهدي كريم عجيل, DMG Mahdī Karīm ʿAǧīl ; * December 10, 1983 in Baghdad ) is an Iraqi soccer player . Karim has been part of the Iraqi national team since 2001 .

Career

He began his career in 1995 with the Iraqi club Al Shorta, moved to Al Naft in 1999 and played for Al Talaba from 2002 to 2005. He had his first international engagement from 2005 to 2008 in Libya with Al-Ahly Tripoli , before he signed a contract with the Qatari first division side Al-Khor Sports Club and played there on the right wing of midfield. After a season he returned to Iraq and signed with the current champions FC Arbil .

With the Iraqi national team, he was Asian champion in 2007 and took part in the 2004 Olympic football tournament and the 2009 Confed Cup .
