Warning Sha Lar Phan
Mahn Sha Lar Phan ( Burmese မန်း ရှာ လား ဖန်း ; * 1944 ; † February 14, 2008 ) was a politician in Myanmar .
Life
He was general secretary of the Karen National Union (KNA) in Myanmar , which works for the independence of the Karen tribe . Its armed arm is the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), the largest rebel group in the country. Your activity is mainly in the border area with Thailand , but also in the neighboring country.
In 2008, Mahn Sha was shot dead by two assassins in the Thai border town of Mae Sot while sitting on the porch of his house.
In an interview with Reuters a week before his death, Mahn Sha predicted an increase in violence in Burma ahead of the constitutional referendum planned for May 2008.
