Maik Schulz (born January 10, 1968 ) is a former German soccer player. From 1989 to 1991 he played for BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt and their successor Eisenhüttenstädter FC Stahl in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR football association .

In 1974, at the age of six, Schulz was accepted into the children's team of the company sports association (BSG) Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt. In 1978 he was a member of the Frankfurt (Oder) district selection, age group 10/11. For the 1987/88 season Schulz, meanwhile trained as a locksmith, was accepted as a striker in the squad of the GDR league team of BSG Stahl. In his first season in the second-rate GDR league , he played 13 point games without scoring a goal. A year later he was one of the most accurate players of the steel team with ten goals, for whom he completed 29 of the 34 matches played in his second league season. Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt ended the 1988/89 season as promoted to the GDR league.

The two following league seasons were unhappy for the 1.76 m tall Schulz. After he had been called up as an attacker for 16 game days in a row up to March 1990, he suffered a serious knee injury that forced him to take a break from playing until February 1991. In 1990/91 he only made four league matches, and he also missed the final final of the GDR soccer cup, in which his team - now playing as Eisenhüttenstädter FC Stahl - lost 1-0 to the last GDR soccer champion Hansa Rostock . Schulz played his last game in higher-class football on July 30, 1991 in the DFB Supercup game FC Stahl against Werder Bremen as a left midfielder. With a 0-1 defeat, he said goodbye to competitive sports. Within four seasons he had completed 61 point games for Eisenhüttenstadt, in which he was successful with goals twelve times.
