Main-Taunus (church district)

The Main-Taunus district is one of the 11 districts of the Limburg diocese . With the exception of the Hofheim district of Wallau, it is congruent with the district of Main-Taunus of the same name .

Size and location

Around 72,000 Catholics live in the district, which is the fourth largest in the diocese after the districts of Frankfurt, Westerwald and Wiesbaden in terms of the number of Catholics. For comparison: The Diocese of Limburg with its 11 districts has a total of 669,271 (December 31, 2008 / AP2010). The proportion of Catholics in the population of the Main-Taunus district is almost a third of the total population (226 647 as of December 31, 2009). After a reorganization, there are eight pastoral rooms .
