Maine Shore Line Railroad

The Maine Shoreline Railroad is a former railway company in Maine ( United States ). It was founded on March 4, 1881. The only route was 67.1 kilometers long and led from Bangor to Mount Desert Ferry . The standard gauge (1435 mm) was chosen as the gauge . On July 16, 1883, the company was leased by the Maine Central Railroad and finally bought on October 22, 1888. The line has now been closed except for a short freight connection at Bangor.
