Maison d'Arrêt et de Correction d'Abidjan

The Maison d'Arrêt et de Correction d'Abidjan, or MACA for short, is the largest prison in the Ivory Coast . It is located in the district of Yopougon in Abidjan , bordering the Forêt du Banco .

In March 2011, around 5,000 inmates were in custody.

In the wake of the 2010/11 government crisis , all 5,000 prisoners were released and armed on March 31, 2011.
