Lutz Thormann (politician)

Lutz Thormann (* 1940 in Leipzig ; † November 6, 1992 ) was a German politician .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1959 and a compulsory year in nursing, Thormann studied medicine at the University of Leipzig . He trained as a general practitioner and then practiced this profession. Thormann also did a second training as a specialist in neurology and psychiatry , where he worked on an outpatient basis until 1991. In 1991 he became head of the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry at Spremberg Hospital .

Until 1989 Thormann was not politically active and non-party, only later did he join Alliance 90 . On November 29, 1991, he replaced Henrik Poller in the Brandenburg state parliament , to which he was a member until his death. His successor was Detlef Grabert , who was initially non-attached and only later became a member of the Bündnis 90 parliamentary group.

Honors

A street in Spremberg, Brandenburg, was named after Lutz Thormann, the Lutz-Thormann-Siedlung .
