Robert Feger

Robert Feger (born July 10, 1918 in Durbach ; † October 6, 1987 in Kirchzarten ) was a German classical philologist , librarian and local researcher .

Life

Robert Feger studied Classical Philology and Catholic Theology at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . After completing his doctorate , he served as a soldier in World War II . From 1945 he worked at the Freiburg University Library , where he was employed as a scheduled library councilor in 1952. In 1961 he was promoted to the First Library Council. In 1983 he retired.

As a classical philologist, Robert Feger published Latin text editions and translations in Reclam's universal library as well as essays on scientific and historical topics. For the Realencyclopedia of Classical Antiquities , he worked on the keyword " Titus Pomponius Atticus " (1956).

Another area of ​​Feger was local research. His research on and descriptions of the landscape, history and the treasure trove of legends of his home country Baden , especially on Johann Peter Hebel , was published in book and essay form and was partly translated into French and English. He published some of these articles under the pseudonym Hans Bachroth .
