Corncob granules

Corn cob granules are granules made from harvest residues. It is created by chopping, sieving and removing dust from ginned corn on the cob, the so-called corn cobs . Further names are corn cobs, corn granules, corn cob granules or corn cob meal.

Corncob granulate is suitable u. a. As an absorbent ( e.g. oil binding agent ) of the dust-free category for removing oil and many other liquids from solid industrial floors or traffic areas, it has the oil binding agent classification Type III R with a bulk weight of 540 g / l, see "List of tested oil binders".

It can also be used for cleaning and polishing (in cutlery polishing machines or as a sleeve polishing agent), as a dust binding agent or as a carrier material for fragrances or aromas. Another possible application is the addition to flushing fluids for rock drilling, for example . In winter service it is used as a dulling grit against ice and slippery snow on sidewalks. Corn cobs (here coarsely chopped corn cobs) are used as litter in poultry farming.

Corncob granulate is microbiologically degradable.
