Maja Åström (born December 14, 1982 in Avesta ) is a Swedish football player .

Life

She began her sporting career as a soccer goalkeeper in 2001 with the Swedish soccer club Bälinge IF . After three years, she moved briefly for a season 2005/2006 to the club Djurgården / Älvsjö and again returned for a season 2006/2007 to the club Bälinge IF . In the 2009-2010 football season she played for the AIK Fotboll Dam club . In 2011 she moved to the Tyresö FF association .

In 2001 she was briefly a substitute goalkeeper on the Swedish national football team . In 2005 she took part in the UEFA Women's Cup final with her club Djurgården , where they lost 1: 3 goals against Turbine Potsdam .
